The first step is to attend Gate Safe’s IOSH-approved training course. This is a concise, practical course designed for anyone involved in the installation, maintenance, specification of automated gates or barriers, or who may be involved with managing sites which feature these machines.

What the training includes:

  • Understand and apply the UK legislation relevant to automated gates and barriers
  • Understand the risks and how to mitigate them in real-life situations
  • Learn how to conduct thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Understand the need to design and install gates with a focus on prioritising safety
  • Be aware of the requirement to select and use appropriate safety devices to prevent accidents
  • Understand how to implement the requisite maintenance protocols to keep installations safe and compliant

  • Access to a Gate Safe installer logo for the company to use on marketing materials, van, and website
  • Your business listed on the Gate Safe Installer Register, which attracts over 500 searches a month from customers looking for a trusted automated gate expert
  • Access to technical resources in the exclusive members’ area, this includes useful templates for risk assessment, maintenance and commissioning electric gates
